Eye City is a premier, state-of-the-art laser eye surgery center where patients can enjoy a relaxed, comfortable setting and personalized care. We utilize FDA approved technology to ensure the best possible outcome for our patients. In addition, we carefully screen our LASIK candidates using the latest screening technology.

We begin with our Free Educational Screening to determine if you are a good candidate for LASIK. There is no further obligation to pursue LASIK with this screening. We then follow up with a comprehensive LASIK evaluation. Eye City provides our patients with the most accurate LASIK screening technology available with the Ocular Response Analyzer (ORA). The ORA accurately measures corneal thickness and structure to determine if your cornea is suitable for LASIK. Eye City is the only LASIK center in Central Texas to offer ORA technology to our patients. If it's determined that you are not a good candidate for LASIK, there may be other procedures that can give you great vision without the need for glasses or contact lenses.

All laser vision correction consultations and procedures are performed at Eye City by Dr. George Walters, ensuring excellent professional care and results.

The Cost of LASIK at Eye City and What's Included

When you see LASIK pricing advertised much lower than that at Eye City, you may want to find out what's included with that price. Most likely you'll find that additional costs are involved in obtaining the procedure for both eyes and for the prescription you need. There may be additional costs for follow-up care as well.

At Eye City you'll receive a complete LASIK package for one complete price, including post-op care for one full year. There are no hidden or additional fees. Your initial consultation is free with no further obligation. Our standard LASIK package includes the following:

• Comprehensive eye exam
• ORA screening
• LASIK procedure for both eyes
• Post-operative visits for ONE YEAR
• Free enhancements for one year, if needed
• Free annual exam

Plus you receive the excellent care and experience of Dr. Walters and the Eye City team.


Paying for LASIK

Though most insurance plans do not cover the cost of LASIK surgery, payment options are available to make it easier to get the excellent vision you desire. We offer financing through Care Credit, so you can make low monthly payments, often at a discounted or even a 0% financing rate. Another option is flexible spending accounts (FSAs) and flex plans (FP), a popular and smart way to pay for your LASIK procedure with pre-tax dollars. You should check with your employer to see if your company offers this type of benefit.

We help many of our patients effectively use their flex spending or health saving plan dollars. It's an easy process, and we're happy to explain how it works. Just give us a call.

It is possible that the cost of LASIK may be deducted from your US federal income taxes. You should check with your accountant to see if you can take LASIK as a deductible health expense.

FREE Educational Seminars

From time to time Eye City hosts a free educational seminars that are a "must see" for anyone who wishes to enjoy life without glasses or contacts.

There are no high pressure sales pitches—just a friendly, open discussion with Center Director Jim Mellon and Dr. Walters about LASIK and other vision correction procedures, including cataract surgery and lens replacement procedures. Information about any upcoming seminars will be posted here.
